What is Letting Your Hair “Breathe” And Why is it Important?
We have all heard our stylist or someone who knows a little something about hair say this, “Girl you need to let your hair breathe!” Some of you know what it means, and some do not. No worries, I am going to break it down for you and why it is important.
“Letting Your Hair Breathe” means to simply take a break from weaves, extensions, wigs, clip-ins, braids, cornrows, basically any addition to your natural hair. As you read this, you probably think that I am crazy and that you would never do such a thing which brings me to explain why it is important to let your hair “air out” from time to time.

These areas are pulled on the most when you are adding extensions. Over pulling can cause breakage and thinning edges. I know this all too well from experience. Constantly adding extensions, even if its protective styling can bring your natural hairline back. In some cases, you can even lose your edges permanently. We do not want that at all!
So as a quest to save the edges, here are some gems to help keep your hair in good health.
