7 Reasons Why the Obamas are Real Family Goals

Ever since the Obamas hit the White House in 2008, it seems like everything they have done hits the airwaves. From pictures of the FLOTUS and POTUS together to witnessing the age progression of their daughters, we feel like we know the First Family so well! Here are our top seven reasons for why the Obamas are real family goals!

  1. We all know that one of the most important things you can have is a good relationship with your father. The admiration we see displayed daily between POTUS and his daughters is refreshing. It is not often you see an 18-year-old that still loves to hang with dad. #daughterdaddygoals
  2. The Obamas have been married since 1992 and are still going strong, but it is not the marriage that makes you love them so much. It is a fact that from the struggle days to the presidential days, they still stuck everything out together. Money and degrees didn’t change either one of them. #ComeUpGoals
  3. Some people are uncomfortable will public displays of affection, but when it comes to the Obama household, they don’t hold it back. From basketball games to state dinners, in front of millions of onlookers, President Obama is never ashamed to kiss his wife, and Michelle never pulls away. #PDAGoals

  4. One of the most important things when it comes to family is looking out for each other, no matter what. The Obamas seem to do that often, whether it’s President Obama holding down Michelle’s fly away dress, holding an umbrella for the girls or supporting Malia’s plan to take a year off before college. #SupportFamGoals
  5. The only thing better than being the first to do something is to do it as a family and the Obamas have certainly done that with being the first Black family in the White House. And we would be remiss if we didn’t mention the fact that the family has had no real scandals or controversy. #SuccessGoals
  6. When Malia Obama was all over the tabloids for being accused of smoking at a concert, you didn’t hear her family speak ill of her. Keep family business in the family. When others are trying to find something that will break you apart, keep the haters out of family business. Don’t speak about your spouse or kids because you don’t have to explain anything to strangers. #StayOutOurBusinessgoals

  7. The final reason why the Obamas are family goals is that there is a partnership within the family that can be seen in the thousands of pictures we see online on a daily basis. Barack may be the President of the United States of America, but he and Michele allow each other to split responsibilities down the middle in their household. Their daughters seem to respect them both, and they are allowed to express themselves freely. If you want to set goals, then you should make sure it is something that works for everyone. #Familygoals

We always see the pictures of the first family online or in the news, but that doesn’t mean that their family doesn’t have the same issues as others. We already know that what is shown in pictures is not always the full reality. There are no perfect families. How you problem solve and handle family issues is what makes you have family goals. #realfamilyGoals
