100 Layered Nail Polish Challenge is Getting Out of Hand

As I’m scrolling through my Instagram feed, as I usually do, I stumble upon notable nail polish vlogger, @simplynailogical. She is followed by many polish obsessed people, like myself. I notice she has these large globs of polish on her nails and I thought to myself “Oh God, not the bubble nail again.” It’s a trend I seriously loathe, I think it looks terrible, but that’s just my humble opinion. Anyway, as I read through the comments I noticed she was doing what’s now known as the 100 layered nail polish challenge. This woman really had the patience and fortitude to paint her nails with a 100 coats of nail polish. I thought “Wow, this looks crazy, but I admire her for taking the challenge head on.” She used all the nail polish she has not to mention literally waited for each coat to dry before applying the next coat. Now that’s patience, I can barely wait for two coats of polish to dry.

The new trend, goes by the affection hashtag #POLISHMOUNTAIN. What started off as a challenge and not to mention a genius way to increase viewership, has completely gotten out of hand (no pun intended).

This challenge has become a trend that ladies are actually rocking, not to mention other bloggers are also trying to outdo the 100 layer nail polish challenge by adding more coats of polish. What really has spun out of control is that makeup vloggers are also jumping on the 100 layer challenge bandwagon. I’ve seen videos all over the internet of ladies applying 100 layers of lipstick, mascara, and even foundation! Some of these videos are seriously just hard to watch, not just because it eventually gets grotesque but because I just can’t believe these girls are wasting all that good makeup lol.
