Tyrese Gibson has been taking over the media lately; between his movie career, his music career, his record label, and his new TV show with Rev. Run, Mr. Gibson has become someone very hard to overlook in the entertainment business. He recently premiered his latest project, The Black Book, on World Star Hip Hop, which is loosely inspired by Nicholas Sparks’ film, The Notebook.
Tyrese is well known, and even sought after, for his relationship advice, and in The Black Book he takes some of his most popular opinions and places them in story form for this 25-minute mini-film. He interacted with his followers during the premiere of the movie by promising a personal call to whomever could figure out the secret he hid in the film. Tyrese wrote, directed and starred in The Black Book, bringing on recurring Empire talent, V. Bozeman, as his beautiful love interest.
When discussing his film with Billboard, Tyrese said “I feel like some of the best movies I’ve seen have some type of resolve to it. We’ve all experienced trauma and being in dark places, whether it’s relationships, family, losing family members. We’ve all been in that dark place that most of us hope never to have to go back to, but I feel like there should always be something positive, something beautiful. It was just my way of complimenting God. When challenges present themselves, I often say that you will grow through what you go through.”
The man really knows how to work his platform. With that being said, check out Tyrese Gibson’s newest mini-film, The Black Book. Let us know your thoughts!
