This was the show that let the world know that Shonda Rhimes was an authentic storyteller. “Grey’s Anatomy” first aired in March of 2005 as a mid-season replacement and since then hasn’t left ABC’s side. The show was once ranked in the top 10 shows in the U.S and has lost viewers over the past few years. The show focuses on the lives of fictional surgical interns, residents and attendings, learning how to literally balance life in their hands. The 12th season just came to an end May 19th, leaving fans on the edges of their seats (as usual). If you have yet to check out the show or looking for something new to watch, the first 11 seasons are available on Netflix!

Concluding its 17th season on May 25, “Law & Order: SVU” has held its place on NBC for 17 years now, being the first spin-off to the already popular “Law & Order.” The show first premiered in September 1999 and has since aired over 380 original episodes and is the fifth-longest running scripted U.S. primetime TV series on a major network. The show’s episodes are loosely based on real crimes, snatched from the headlines, turned into mind-boggling crime-solving adventures. Because of the lengthy time span of the show, Netflix is only offering seasons 13-16, while Hulu has all 389 episodes available for you.

This animated series has seen the light of two decades and creeping into a third. “The Simpsons’” was first introduced on FOX as a short, airing on “The Tracey Ullman Show” in 1987.  After doing well for a couple seasons, the show was picked up for a 30-minute slot in 1989 and has been on our television sets ever since. The infamous cartoon was created as a depiction of the working class family known as The Simpsons. This award-winning show is the longest-running American sitcom, animated program and scripted primetime series. Netflix has the series available via DVD only.
