If you were wondering if the Fast & Furious franchise was ever going to end, you don’t have to wonder anymore!
Fast & Furious head honcho and spokesperson Vin Diesel announced that two more films in the franchise are in the works, and that’s even before Fast 8 has even finished filming. Universal’s second most successful franchise has set the premiere dates for Fast & Furious 9 & 10. Fast 8 has already been announced to be hitting theaters April 14, 2017, with Fast & Furious 9 following up on April 19, 2019 and Fast & Furious 10 concluding the series on April 2, 2021.
After the overwhelming success of Furious 7, the actor said that the next film, Fast 8, is intended to be the first installment of a trilogy that will bring the two decade long franchise to conclusion after 10 films. Vin Diesel says that a huge part of this is to honor the memory of the late Paul Walker who played Brian O’Conner in the series.
As for Fast 8, Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray has been tapped to direct the next installment of the series with the full cast, including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham returning also.
