Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood
From the title you can imagine what this book is about but when you see it is a memoir by the Daily Show’s Trevor Noah. This book has appeared on the New York times bestseller list and has raving reviews. It’s not just because you know him from television either. Noah tells the story of his life growing up in Africa during a time when it was illegal for him to have parents that were not of the same racial background. Be funny is the only way any child would able to survive a childhood like his, and his mother taught him well.

Rich People Problems: A Novel
The other two books on this list may have you feeling inspired but switch it up with this book by Kevin Kwan. You know how you see the end of a movie and you have to see what happened in the beginning? This is one of those books. This book is all about these crazy rich people and what they are willing to do to get even richer. Even if that mean waiting for someone to die. This is part of a trilogy, so if you pick this one up you will go searching for more.
Black Girl Lost
This on is a classic and probably like no other book you have ever read. The author of this book spent a couple stints in prison and during that time took up writing as a hobby. The story is fiction but there is always a little truth behind a good story.
