On May 2nd, I had the privilege of attending the Makeup Show NYC, which is a favorite amongst pros and beauty enthusiasts. It’s the perfect place for pros to stock up on items for their kits, see what’s new in the industry, and rub elbows with some leaders in the beauty world. Although the Makeup Show NYC is geared towards beauty professionals, there are several ways that consumers can benefit from attending the two-day event.
Consumers love to use items that pros are using. However, most consumers aren’t fully aware of how they should use these products. Therefore, sitting in on one of The Makeup Show NYC’s live demos is a great way for consumers to see how products are used and get a better understanding of these pro favorites.
The Makeup Show NYC offers a variety of deals from favorites, including Frends Beauty, “a one-stop-shop for professional hair and makeup artistry supplies.” This retailer sells a consumer favorite, the BeautyBlender, at a discounted price ($16), and may offer one or more blenders for a special price.
The Makeup Show NYC has great discounts and certain brands provide exclusive bundle deals that can only be redeemed during the event. For example, AJ Crimson was selling all 3 of his artist kits for about $300, whereas they normally retail for about $150 a piece.
Chances to Meet Pros + Influencers
Consumers love following their favorite makeup artists and influencers on social media and YouTube, and the Makeup Show NYC is a great opportunity to meet some of your favorites in person! For example, AJ Crimson was there, promoting his own products and providing tips for those interested in his products, with the help of Reggie Wells who was Oprah’s makeup artist for about 20+ years.
I didn’t purchase anything from the event, but I did get a Sephora makeup brush and cream lip stain because of press. If you do have a chance to attend, make sure you bring cash and discipline because there are PLENTY of things to purchase!
