The list of 2016 Celebrity Losses is longer than the previous years, saying farewell to sport icons, musical legends, and many Hollywood icons.

Social media went purple April 21 for the loss of icon Prince, who passed at 57. The singer was found in his from accidental prescription drug overdose. Heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali died at 74 after his long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Actor Anton Yelchin best known for roles in Alpha Dog, Star Trek Beyond (which was released a month before his passing) and Fright Night passed away at 27 due to a car accident.

Willy Wonka actor Gene Wilder, 83, passed away with complications from Alzheimer’s disease. Television icon Florence Henderson, Carol Brady of “The Brady Bunch,” died from heart failure. “Growing Pains” star Alan Thicke, 69, passed after his aorta artery ruptured.

One of reality TV’s biggest personalities passed this year, Angela “Big Ang” Raiola at age 55 due to cancer. Two months later, wrestler Chyna died at 46 due to Alchol and drug use. Rapper Shawty Lo passed at 40, cause of death was a fatal car attack leaving a nightclub in Atlanta.

Just when we thought 2016 was coming to an end, the list continued in December. On December 15, Craig Sager, NBA sideline reporter known for his flashy outrageous suits, died of leukemia at 65. George Michael, ’80s pop music icon and former member of Wham! passed away on Christmas day. Comedian Ricky Harris died this week at 54 due to a heart attack. Harris was known for his roles in “Everybody Hates Chris” and “Poetic Justice.” Carrie Fisher, 60, known as Star Wars Princess Leia, died December 27th after suffering from a heart attack.
Though they are gone, their legacies will live on through their music, speeches, films and achievements. Rest in Peace.
