What happens when two dominate females come together to make movie magic? We’ll see this upcoming holiday season as Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson and the forever opinionated Wendy Williams star together in the TV remake of the Christmas classic, Scrooged. The 1988 holiday comedy starred Bill Murray and Alfre Woodard. Don’t feel bad if you don’t remember the 80s film, check out the trailer for a quick refresher.
According to Showbiz411.com, Henson will play the role of Scrooge and Williams will be playing the Ghost of Christmas Past. There is much hope that this TV remake will not only be fun to watch but rewarding, with the original film being nominated for an Academy Award for Best Make Up and Danny Elfman, the film’s composer, winning a BMI. The TV remake of Scrooged is being produced by Howard Rosenman and Motown legend and producer, Suzanne de Passe.
So far, the only familiar names publically attached to the project are Henson and Williams. It looks as if this may be a girl-powered film and the anticipation from wondering what other beautiful and bold women will join the cast is nail-biting.
We can’t wait for the holiday season to see these dynamic women together!
