Less than a month after the world was shocked by reports of her exit on the daytime talk show “The Real,” Tamar Braxton sat down with Steve Harvey‘s morning show in her first ever interview since the receipt of such unfortunate news.
As expected, the R&B songstress delved into her side of the story, revealing that she’d been terminated amidst juggling her many jobs. While getting ready for a taping for her family based reality show “Braxton Family Values” (which captured her reaction to the news), husband-ager Vincent Herbert made a call to the “The Real” about the glam squad that was to accompany Tamar as she and her former co-hosts traveled to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival. He was instead met with the words “Oh we’ve been meaning to call you” before they broke down their disinterest in having Tamar return to the panel. According to the “Tamar and Vince” star, there was no controversy that could have led up to this and with no explanation for her termination, she was blindsided and hurt not knowing what it was about her work ethic that she could have possibly improved on.
Through the good and the bad, however, Tamar chose to be optimistic rather than allowing her defeat to define her.
“This is not a SET BACK this is a SET UP! From here, it is onward and UPWARD…you have to speak positivity over your life,” Tamar said during the interview. She also expressed similar sentiments in an earlier Instagram post where she stated “in order for him(God) to use me, my heart is PURE and FULL of LOVE!”
Well, as they say, when one door closes another one opens and that statement definitely rings true in Tamar’s situation because she has landed her very own talk show! Steve Harvey announced that his relationship with her family, particularly Vince, led to Tamar’s signing of a contract for a talk show/teleseries with his production team, 112th Street Productions.
Though we’ve grown accustomed to seeing Tamar alongside four other co-hosts, it is great to know that we can still look forward to seeing her as a talk show host! As always, she continues to stay booked to capacity.
