On to the next!
Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors formally had a deal with Nike, but recently chose to forgo the collaboration. Shockingly, Nike did not want nor allow Curry to add bible verses to the front of his sneakers. Since, Curry has decided to hand write bible verses on his own Nike shoes.
Taking his faith a step further, Curry decided to part ways with Nike and join forces with Under Armour. UA was more than happy to have the MVP sign with them and add bible verses to their sneakers.
Under the tongues of Curry’s new sneakers read, “I can do all things,” which comes from Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Steph revealed why this special scripture is his favorite, “It’s my mantra, how I get up for games and why I play the way I do,” he said during a Q&A session with Under Armour.
Curry openly spoke about his faith, stating, “It’s part of my DNA… Who I am. To have that come out in my vision for my first shoe is special.”
About two years ago, Steph wrote a column for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes website. Curry dished about his love for Christ and pointing people towards Jesus. He wrote, “I know I have a place in Heaven waiting for me because of Him, and that’s something no earthly prize or trophy could ever top.”
Kudos to Steph for standing his ground and staying true to his faith!
