We’ve seen her blow out plenty of tennis tournaments and now the world is witnessing her become a champ in motherhood. We wouldn’t expect anything less from her, than being a champ in every area of her life. From the tennis court to the baby room, Serena Williams is proving to the world that once a champion, always a champion.
The Heartfelt Dear Mama Letter …
Serena penned a letter to her mother that left the world in Awe. In the letter, she addressed the many issues that she faced on her road to victory. She said, “I’ve been called a man because I appeared outwardly strong. It has been said I don’t belong in women’s sports — that I belong in men’s — because I look stronger than many other women do. It has been said that I use drugs (No, I have always had far too much integrity to behave dishonestly in order to gain an advantage). I am proud we were able to show them what some women look like. We don’t all look the same.” Serena also went on to say that she wouldn’t have overcome those issues if it wasn’t for her mom’s guidance and her final statement was that she would pass on that same life lesson to her daughter Alexis Olympia.
Having a mom that’s strong to endure anything is one of the greatest lessons any child can receive.
2. Her Overprotective Motherly Instinct
Like any mother, your first instinct is to protect your child(ren). Serena penned another letter to her mom with a picture of her and Alexis. Stating that she couldn’t imagine what she would do if her daughter had to endure what she had to deal with since she was 15. This was one of the purest posts that a concerned mother could share with the world. Although she is the champ in tennis, motherhood is a new journey and experiencing the scrutiny that she has faced, it’s only right that she is concerned about Alexis’s future.
3. Mum Is Already Back To WERK
Serena has taken off some much needed time and now she is ready to go dominate the tennis world as well as motherhood. Like many mothers, she will wear different titles but the greatest of them all will be as a mom. So many women are dominating motherhood and for those who are without a child, Serena is proving that you can be a mom and still be a beast in any field that you desire.
We might be a little bias because we overly love Serena however, traveling through the journey of motherhood with her virtually has me in awe and I am sure you all can relate and call her #momgoals as well.
