For years black women have been convinced that we could not grow long and beautiful hair. However, with the spike in different social media platforms we now have the ability to share hair tips with other beauties from all around the world and form a community that celebrates our hair. One common theory among hair junkies is that the key to long, beautiful, and healthy hair is a healthy scalp. Below I have put together a list of scalp treatments to promote a healthy scalp.
For My DIY Beauties:
1.Brown Sugar Scrub
Mix together a few teaspoons of brown sugar with olive oil until it turns into a paste, apply to the hair and massage the mixture into the scalp to help exfoliate the dead skin cells. The olive oil will help to loosen the debris on the scalp while the brown sugar deep cleanses and washes it away.
2.Baking Soda Wash
Add a little baking soda and tea tree oil to your shampoo once a month to strip away debris and bacteria living on the scalp. Baking soda can provide a deep cleaning and tea tree oil has antifungal and antiseptic properties. Together they promote the perfect condition for a healthy scalp.
For My Product Junkies:
So maybe DIY isn’t your thing, here are some products that are great for maintaining a healthy scalp.
1.Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Hair and Scalp Treatment
This treatment works well to promote healthy hair and scalp and has amazing natural ingredients such as tea tree oil, peppermint, lavender, soy, Vitamin E, and shea butter.
2. Organic Root Stimulator Scalp Scrub
Packaged with a brush and measuring cups, this scalp scrub by Organic Root Stimulator is both convenient and perfect for all of your scalp needs. It was made to fight against hair thinning, balding, itching, and dryness caused by a damaged scalp.
Hydration is the number one key to a healthy scalp. Drinking enough water can help to alleviate dry and itchy scalp and provide a natural amount of moisture.
Keep the blood circulating and flowing with scalp massages and regular brushing.
