Vh1 is bringing back the Hip Hop Honors after a six-year hiatus and this year’s theme is All Hail the Queens. According to VH1, the award show is “focusing on the women who broke the rap glass ceiling and became heavy weight in the male-dominated genre.”

VH1 announced the first official honoree and you can’t hail all queens without the Queen herself, Queen Latifah. The UNITY rapper was one of the several honorees announced for the show.

Queen Latifah took over the Hip Hop world with her bold look and her feminist lyrics with her first album in 1988, All Hail the Queen. But as we all know, though she tackled the rap world with rhymes on women issues, her acting opened bigger doors. Queen Latifah has been nominated and granted awards from the Oscars, Golden Globes and the Emmys. So indeed, all hail to one of our Queens!

Along with Queen Latifah, VH1 announced another big name for women in Hip Hop; the misdemeanor herself, Missy Elliot. The Work It rapper is definitely no stranger to the show. She was recognized at the fourth annual Hip Hop Honors.

VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail The Queen will air on July 24.
