Oprah Winfrey is always helping others. This time, she decided to give back to a charity in D.C. that helps women in need.

Oprah donated $1 Million to an organization called N Street Village, which helps women who are homeless or in need of money.

Winfrey decided to present the donation at the organization’s Empowerment Luncheon. The powerful organization gives women housing and employment. They also help women who are sick and addicted to drugs.

The organization was only expecting for Oprah to give a speech, but they received so much more.

Oprah stated to the group, “I thank you N Street for seeing, hearing and knowing that every life matters, every woman matters.”

The organization has four locations around the D.C. area to help get their lives together. Oprah personally helped a woman named Linda Rush who was addicted to crack but found this group and it saved her. She now has a job, home, and her daughter who was taken away from her.

The organization has yet to reveal how they will use the money, but we’re sure they will help a lot of women.
