In the highly anticipated latest installment, Steven Soderbergh puts a spin on the Ocean’s film series with an all-female leading cast. The starring line-ups are much different but the heist franchise remains the same.

The all-female line up stars Rhianna, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Helena Carter and Anne Hathaway.

After serving over five years in prison for fraud, Debbie Ocean, devises her biggest heist ever. Debbie comes from a family of criminals. Her big brother is the deceased character Danny Ocean who led the most elaborate casino heist in history along with his wingman Rusty Ryan and accomplices.

Although Sandra Bullock (Debbie Ocean) and Cate Blanchett (Lou Miller) are the female clones of George Clooney (Danny Ocean) and Brad Pitt (Rusty Ryan) characters from Soderbergh’s 2001 series, the partners-in-crime put an enchanting spin on an outrageous $150 million heist scheme that makes the mission seem possible.

Together, Debbie and Lou recruit a team of specialists, including jeweler Amita, street con Constance, suburban mom Tammy, hacker Nine Ball, and fashion designer Rose to secure a necklace worth more than $150 million.

These women form a sisterhood of thieves, hackers, and hustlers with every intention to get the job done. Soderbergh’s gender-flip for the Ocean’s spinoff shows that women could be just as naughty and malicious as their male counterparts when it comes to pulling off such a sophisticated heist.

The movie has hit theaters this weekend and is already generating buzz. For the official trailer, watch below:
