Bringing a human being into the world is a life-changing event and can be overwhelming. The following 3 hacks can be helpful to make life just a little bit easier for a first time mom.

1. New Baby Clothes

First things first. A new mom will receive and purchase tons of new clothes for the baby. Make sure to wash all baby clothes before bringing the baby home. Most baby clothes are sprayed with chemicals to keep them fresh and wrinkle free during shipping. Newborns have super sensitive skin so don’t take the chance of irritating your new baby’s skin. Use a detergent, such as Dreft, that is free of harsh chemicals and fragrances

2. Mesh Laundry Bags

Nothing is more irritating that losing baby socks. A nifty trick to keep from constantly having one sock is to use lingerie laundry bags. Place the baby socks in the bag to keep them from getting lost in the laundry. You can also use additional bags for baby bibs. It is perfect from keeping the Velcro from sticking to and pulling other items in the laundry. Bonus: You can also wash lots of toys in one swoop using a mesh bag.

3. Magic Laundry Cleaner

Probably the most important thing to know is how to manage stains. Baby throw-up and poop are two things you know will happen with a newborn baby. Save your baby’s clothes with an easy DIY stain remover. Guaranteed to get the nastiest of stains out of your baby’s clothes, mix 2 parts peroxide + 1 part Dawn dish detergent + 1 part baking soda. Scrub this into the stain, let it sit for an hour and wash as normal. This is one DIY you will want to have on hand constantly.

New moms will, no doubt, learn all things baby through trial and error. These new baby laundry tips will be one less thing for her to worry about.
