For the 25th year, the MTV Movie Awards handed out their sparkling golden buckets of popcorn for exciting categories like Best Kiss, Best Hero and of course, Movie of the Year.  This year’s milestone of a show was hosted by former wrestler turned actor Dwayne Johnson and popular comedian Kevin Hart, both co-starring in the upcoming film “Central Intelligence” scheduled to hit theaters June 17th.  These two had laughs and movie reenactments coming left and right and did an awesome job keeping viewers entertained.  Check them out in action…literally.

Presenters of those petite pails of golden joy included fan favorites Kendall Jenner, Key and Peele and Kendrick Lamar, who presented the cast of Straight Outta of Compton with the Best True Story award for their portrayal of prominent 90s rap group NWASalt & Pepa surprised Deadpool’s star Ryan Reynolds as he accepted his award for Best Comedic Performance. Will Smith, who hosted the Movie Awards show back in 1994, was the Generation Award honoree, an award given to those who’ve created exceptional bodies of work throughout their career.  He and MTV have a lasting relationship and this year couldn’t have been a better year to solidify their union. With Smith, being in the industry for 30 years, has a reputation for delivering summer blockbusters.  He and his co-stars used last night to share with fans his upcoming film Suicide Squad, set to hit theatres August 5th.  Other big winners of the night included Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect, What to Expect When You’re Expecting) and Adam DeVine (The Intern, Modern Family) for Best Kiss in their film Pitch Perfect 2, Jennifer Lawrence (Joy, Silver Linings Playbook) won Best Hero for her portrayal as Kat in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2 and Star Wars: The Force Awakens took home the big one by winning Movie of the Year.

It was definitely a fun night! We can’t wait until next year’s show!
