The American Century Celebrity Golf Championship was held this past weekend at Lake Tahoe with several celebrities in attendance including Steph Curry, Alfonso Ribeiro, and Justin Timberlake. Amidst the fun and reenactments of the infamous “Carlton” dance came Timberlake’s disapproval of a fan’s inappropriate touch, which later ended in an unfortunate arrest.
Allegedly, Keith Weglin was not arrested for touching Timberlake, but for what he did shortly afterwards. After coming into contact with Timberlake, the singer opted out of pressing charges and chose instead to demand that the fan be escorted off the golf course. The California man, who was reportedly intoxicated at the event, was detained for misconduct on his way out.
“Mr. Timberlake declined to press charges and officers directed the fan to leave the premises,” Douglas County Undersheriff Paul Howell stated to the Associated Press. He then added that Weglin “became disorderly and argumentative and was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct.”
Justin Timberlake’s refusal to press charges is a testament to what a great guy he is. However, a lesson to be learned is the importance of personal space and knowing you can’t just touch other people.
Justin has yet to release a statement on the incident.
