The beautiful and multi-talented LeToya Luckett recently sat down with Black Enterprise to discuss her upcoming project called Here We Go Again, airing February 9 on TV One. Last year, LeToya Luckett released new music, played business tycoon Felicia Price on Centric’s “Single Ladies” and starred in BET’s film Lucky Girl.

Starting early this year, LeToya will play the role of Maddy Walker. With her mother having her at 16, Maddy having her daughter Shante (played by Kyndall Ferguson) at 16, and with Shante approaching her 16th birthday, Maddy is determined to break the curse of teenage pregnancy in their family.

Here We Go Again also stars the hilarious Wendy Raquel Robinson, who plays Maddy’s mother, Travis Winfrey (Single Ladies) and Andra Fuller (Black Jesus). LeToya is also working with her fiance, Rob Hill Sr. on the sitcom.

Senior Vice President of Original Programming and Production at TV One, D’Angela Proctor says, “audience members across generations will find their experiences humorous, poignant and reflective of the village it takes to keep today’s modern family strong.”

On choosing this role and her many others, LeToya states, “I look at the producers, the director, the writing, and if it is something I played already. I go through a lot before I say ‘yes.’ [to a project]” The singer, actress and entrepreneur also shared some career advice with Black Enterprise and upcoming artists. She tells those trying to breaking into the entertainment industry that her secret is to just “Keep going.”

Around the time her new 30-minute sitcom premieres, Letoya plans on releasing her first single off her third album. “It’s been 5 years almost and I’m excited. I thank God for patient fans who enjoy my acting as well.”

Tune into TV One on February 9 at 8/7c for the series premiere of Here We Go Again.
