Vampire Diaries star, Kat Graham has been casted to play Jada Pinkett-Smith in the upcoming Tupac biopic, All Eyez on Me. The 26-year-old actress is known for her roles on shows like “Lizzie McGuire,” “Malcom in the Middle,” “CSI” and “Hannah Montana,” just to name a few. Smith and Tupac were longtime friends. Their friendship began when they met at Baltimore School for the arts. We have seen many photos of the two together and there have even been rumors of them dating in the past. We’re not sure if there’s any truth to them dating, but hopefully we’ll find out in the movie.
Walking Dead star, Danai Gurira has also been casted to play in the film. She will take the role of Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur. Among other cast members are Demetrius Shipp Jr. as Tupac and Jamal Woolard as rapper Biggie Smalls. Music video director, Benny Boom has also stepped in as the director, allegedly replacing John Singleton and Carl Franklin. Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur is involved as well as the executive producer. Production is currently taking place in Atlanta after years of trying to get the ball rolling.
A release date has not yet been set for the film, however, it is highly anticipated and we’re happy to see it in the works. Tupac Shakur was one of the most outspoken, intelligent, and influential rappers in hip-hop. We can’t wait to see how his life plays out on the big screen!
