Kanye West told fans he would perform at Webster Hall for a 2am show!
The Life Of Pablo rapper was scheduled to perform at the Governors Ball music festival on Sunday night, but due to bad weather in NYC, the show was canceled. But that didn’t stop Yeezy from putting on a show.
West’s creative director Virgil Abloh posted on his Instagram, “Summer Jam now. We’re doing PABLO at 2 am in Manhattan. Sorting out where now.”
Yeezy started the night off by performing at Hot 97’s Summer Jam in New Jersey, and once that ended, Kim Kardashian posted a Snapchat video of Yeezy on the phone discussing his plans.
Ye stated, “Call the mayor and shut down the block about four streets and put screens up so they can have a party outside,” the hip-hop star said. “I hear it’s sold out already.”
West then tweeted, “Show at 2am SOLD OUT.”
Ye planned to perform at Webster Hall. Around 4,000 people came to 13th Street in the East Village, which almost turned into a riot.
Kanye pulled up and showed out! He stood through his car’s sunroof looking at all his fans scream, “Pablo! Pablo!”
The crowd was too much to handle, so of course that led to another cancellation. Webster Hall tweeted at 1:45 a.m. ET, “There is no late show at Webster Hall tonight. Please get home safely.”
Although Kanye couldn’t’t perform, his team still believed he made history. Ye’s producer Mike Dean tweeted, “We made history tonight. Pablo mob.”
Kim K. said that Kanye plans to make the show up:
