This talented actor and singer can now add being a lifesaver to his list of accomplishments. Oscar winner Jamie Foxx fought fire to save a man from a burning pickup truck.
“Jamie didn’t hesitate, He jumped out and ran to the car,” his publicist said.
Jamie Foxx, who is known for his dynamic roles, heard the wreck outside his Ventura County, California home.
When Foxx arrived to the scene, driver Brett Kyle was trapped inside his burning, flipped over truck.
“As I’m getting him out, I said, ‘You’ve got to help me get you out because I don’t want to have to leave you,’ ” Foxx told CNN affiliate KCAL.”I said, ‘You’ve angels around you.’“
Soon after, the Ventura County firefighters and paramedics arrived to the scene and took Kyle to Los Robles Hospital. Joe Kyle, Brett Kyle’s brother, told ABC News that his brother “would be much worst if Jamie Foxx didn’t come along.” He only suffers a broken collarbone, which in turn punctured his lungs.
“I don’t look at it as heroic. I just look at it as … you just had to do something,” Foxx told KCAL. “It all worked out.”
California High Patrol reported that Brett Kyle was traveling at a high rate speed when his Toyota 2007 Tacoma flipped over in a drainage ditch. After being treated for his injuries, Kyle was later arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
