Big Sean Donates $100,00 towards Flint Water Crisis
With so many controversial events happening right now, it’s refreshing to see something good being done in the community. Hip hop rapper and Detroit native Big Sean recently sat down with “The Daily Host” host Trevor Noah to promote his upcoming album, I Decided. During the interview, Big Sean shared how passionate he is about the Flint Water Crisis that has negatively affected many in Michigan, including his mother, due to contaminated water.
“I just know it’s not even close to being over,” the rapper said. “In that situation, I feel like, it’s not a natural disaster. It’s something that should’ve been prevented and could’ve been prevented, so it’s just disgusting to think about the damages that these families and even kids have to go through with the lead poisoning.”
Through his foundation, Big Sean was able to raise nearly $100,000 towards the water crisis and help the residents including his mother in need.
Great job Sean!
Tennis Champion Serena Williams wins 23rd Grand Slam in Australia
We’re just 30 days into the New Year and tennis champion Serena Williams is already starting 2017 with true Black Girl Magic, winning her 23rd Grand Slam title at the Australian Open this week. Serena played against her older sister Venus Williams beating Venus at a score of 6-4, 6-4. And though it may have been a tough game playing against family, the winning champion made sure to pay homage to her big sis during the trophy ceremony.
“She’s an amazing person, there’s no way I would be at 23 without her. There’s no way I would have anything without her. She’s the only reason the Williams sisters exist, so thank you for inspiring me to be the best that I can be.”
This recent win also moved Serena past Steffi Graf on the list of all-time slam winners and now just one shy of tennis champion Margaret Courts long standing record of 24.
Congratulations Serena! You Rock!

Robin Thicke Loses Custody over his Son
After losing his father actor Allan Thick last month, R&B singer Robin Thicke is facing more trouble as he may lose custody of his six-year-old son. According to reports, his ex-wife and actress Paula Patton went to court earlier this month and claimed the singer physically abused their son Julian by giving him harsh spankings. The former couple both appeared in court and asked for temporary sole custody of the child, however when presented with a domestic violence restraining order by Patton’s lawyers, the judge moved in favor of Paula and ordered Thicke to stay away from his ex-wife, their son and any of Paula’s family members until further notice.
