After being in the music industry for over 20 years and having movies made about their lives, Ice Cube and New Edition will be joining the elite as they all receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Walk of Fame announced their list of nominees that not only include Ice Cube and New Edition, but also John Legend, N’SYNC and the late Tejano singer Selena.
These stars is well deserved for rapper/actor and producer Ice Cube who made his staple as one of the rappers of N.W.A., then later a solo artist, which came full circle into Cube being an A-List actor in Hollywood. Ice Cube has even brought his son O’Shea Jackson Jr. into the mix as he was one of the stars of the critically acclaimed film, Straight Outta Compton, released last year.
John Legend has also proven himself to be a force in the music and film industry with countless top 10 records, 10 Grammys, one Golden Globe and one Academy Award for the title song “Glory” from the film Selma. Legend is also the Executive Producer of the hit series WGN’s “Underground“ that was recently renewed for a second season after a record breaking first season.
And lastly, the guys of New Edition, who paved the way for groups like Boyz II Men, N’SYNC, and Backstreet Boys are living on the high. The group, who is currently on tour, will be airing their 3 part mini series biopic on BET next year, produced the movie and still have moves like they never left.
The Walk of Fame has yet to announce when the 2017 ceremony will take place. Congratulations to all on their achievements!
