When we think of flowers, we think of blooming buds and all things Spring. Although the temperatures are below freezing, it doesn’t mean you have to wait until the season changes to embrace florals.

EGL has a  few tips on how you can keep those botanical thoughts and still appreciate “Flower Power” during the cold months.

Staying warm and fly in the Winter is sometimes a challenge. Adding a statement coat or boot with floral patterns is the perfect way to stand out and show your sense of style.

Vince Camuto Tapestry Coat, Originally $189.99, Sale Price $129.99

Moncler Siusi Ski Coat, $2275

Miss Selfridge Floral Over the Knee Boots, Originally $103, Sale Price $61.50

Rebecca Minkoff Floral Bryce Booties, Originally $295, Sale Price $115

All florals are NOT created equal. Spring and Summer florals are usually bright and on lightweight material.  In the Winter, opt for florals that have texture and on a darker hue like black or navy blue.

Joseph Wool Floral Trousers, Originally $675, Sale Price $283

Robin Santiago Embroidered Floral Blazer, $39

If you’re wearing a floral dress, mix it with heavier winter pieces. So if it’s a short dress, add over the knee boots or opaque tights with chunky booties. If it’s a long dress, match it with an ankle bootie or motorcycle boots to be season appropriate.

Rachel Roy Velvet Nadia Dress, Originally $119, Sale Price $53.99

Eliza J Floral Print Velvet Shift Dress, Originally $170, Sale Price $106.80

If you’re not too sure or a little shy about wearing floral in the Winter, pick small accessories to make your outfit blossom.  A silk scarf, hat or bag will keep you right on trend.
