The 2016 Soul Train Awards gave us all the feels last night! The must-see award show was hosted by the timeless beauty and God-mother of soul, Erykah Badu, in Las Vegas at the Orleans Arena.

From start to finish the show was the total package! The night kicked off with an amazing performance by Dru Hill who took us back to the good ole days with hits like “Tell Me” and “In My Bed.” And you know they had to perform the oh so classic, “Thong Song.”

We also got to see the most satisfying performances from Brandy, Teddy Riley, Anderson.Paak, Bobby Brown, D.R.A.M., MA$E, Douge E. Fresh, India Arie, BJ The Chicago Kid, Gu, Candice Boyd, Carl Thomas, Eric Benet, MAJOR., Ro James, Toto Jackson, V.Bozeman, Wreckx-n-Effect, Yuna and Badu.

Badu proved to be queen yet again as she performed “WiFi” with rapper D.R.A.M. then later joined India.Arie for a hypnotizing duet called “Breathe” from the Black Lives Matter soundtrack. Badu wanted the audience to have blended accents of 90’s music with futuristic songs we hear today. She did everything to have us relive those moments.

Jill Scott presented Brandy with the Lady of Soul Award. The honoree then shut down the stage with her greatest 90’s hits, including  “Full Moon,” “ I wanna Be Down,” “The Boy Is Mine,” “ Talk About Our Love,” “ Have You Ever” and “Sitting On Top Of The World” with MA$E.

Tedd Riley received the Legend Award and performed his best and most satisfying songs like “My Prerogative,” “Remember the Time” and “Rump Shaker” alongside Doug E. Fresh, Bobby Brown, Tito Jackson, Wreckx-N-Effect and Guy.
