If you haven’t noticed I am all about the “stress-free” hairstyles especially in the summertime when I try to eliminate thermal styling all together (i.e. blow drying and flat ironing). My favorite low maintenance hairstyle is the “rollerset” because I can literally go from a shampoo to long lasting curls in a matter of minutes. In addition, the elimination of heat reduces shedding, porosity, and maintains the integrity of my hair. As a result, I have derived this list of versatile “wet it, set it, and forget it” hairstyles that you can incorporate into hair routines.

This hairstyle consist of parting the hair into small to medium sections and then twisting the hair in a rope-like motion. Setting Lotion and/or hair foam really holds the twist in place. Hair Tip: NAIROBI Foam is amazing for this type of style. After your hair is completely twisted then “forget it”! Let it air dry or sit under a hairdryer either way your textured fro will look amazing afterwards.

“Curly Sue” Rod Set

I love the tight curls that you can get with a rod (or perm roller). Hair Tip: Be sure to alternate the rollers clockwise and counterclockwise or all your curls will go the same way prohibiting your textured look. However, the tighter the curl the longer they last and this is one hairstyle that gets better over time.

Bantu Knots

Leave the knots in or take them out…either way you’ll have a fabulous versatile hairstyle making the “forget it” part that much easier.

Roller Set

My favorite! What I love about this hairstyle is that I can change my look depending on how I place the rollers. Most importantly, I never sit under the dryer! So I typically “wet it, set it, and forget it” overnight

Pin Curls

No rollers? No problem. Just wrap section of your hair around your middle and index finger then secure the curl with either a bobby pin or metal clip. The end result is beautiful, bouncy curls.
