The 9th Annual Roots Picnic and Broad City has announced this summer’s musical lineup! And speaking of roots, the festival will yet again be hosted in the historic city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where our highly esteemed Declaration of Independence was signed. You can expect amazing acts like Usher and The Roots, Future, Swizz Beats, Migos, Jidenna and more on June 4, 2016, at Festival Pier. Check out the clip below for the full list of musical talent.
“We are excited that the Picnic is growing each year. We are laser focused on building an amazing fan experience and continuing to build a diverse lineup that matches the collective tastes and interests of the curators, Questlove and Black Thought of the Legendary Roots Crew. This year is going to be a lot of fun!” –Shawn Gee, Roots Picnic co-founder.
From the looks of the talent that is due to hit the stage, it sounds like the energy will be nothing less than electrifying at the festival. Tickets go on sale on Ticketmaster on February 5 at 12 noon EST. VIP tickets give access to private decks, bars, entrances and more. Last year’s line up included the likes of Erykah Badu, The Weekend and A$AP Rocky while John Legend and Public Enemy have performed in previous years.
