Who’d ever thought the world would see the day when gospel and hip-hop became best friends? It doesn’t seem like the backlash Kirk Franklin received due to his Kanye West collaboration is persuading Deitrick Haddon to stray away from these types of partnerships. Gospel’s very own “bad boy” has teamed up with one of the greatest and most respected rappers and one of Atlanta’s legends, Big Boi. Big Boi, one half of the Grammy Award winning group Outkast and Haddon recently released the video for “Sinners (Saved by Grace),” a song that will also serve as the theme song for Bounce TV’s new show “Saints and Sinners,” a show revolved an investigation that rattles not only the church but the whole town.
Take a look at the trailer below:
In the faith based song, both Big Boi and Haddon seem to tell their own individual grace-filled stories, proving that when barriers are crossed, conversations can be had and musical magic can happen. Haddon’s last album Masterpiece, released in November, hit number 57 on the Billboard 200 and Big Boi is currently on tour, with his next stop being in The Big Apple at Output.
