Whether we want to admit it or not, every woman can attest to wanting that old thing back at least once. Alexis Nicole proved just that and put things into perspective with her new single “Everyday.” Reminiscing on better times, Alexis portrays the struggle of wanting an ex back, while knowing it’s probably best to remain distant. Drawing from her experience, the track includes a more detailed version of what women want after a hard break-up.
“Everyday,” the straightforward track is off of Alexis Nicole’s debut visual EP Daybreak, which is set to be released January 27th. Produced by GrindKid and written by Alexis Nicole herself, this track alone is enough to sell the entire project. With her chilling voice and openness to being vulnerable to express her truth through art, Alexis is already proving herself different from other artists out today.
When asked about the inspiration behind “Everyday” Alexis Nicole admits that unlike other artists, she wanted to keep the message completely transparent. And needless to say, by keeping the sound authentic and lyrics honest, she didn’t hold back. Via Singers Room:
“‘Everyday’ is my ‘I’m in my feelings, but not enough to cry so I’ll just vibe’ song. Most people aren’t completely honest in their music, and ‘Everyday’ is my attempt at being transparent,” says Alexis. “I chose to open up to this person and to the world in a manner that didn’t feel forced. I said exactly what I felt and what I meant. I know I’m not the only person who has ever felt like that so, hopefully, it will hit home with those who understand,” she adds.
Listen to “Everyday”below and let us know what you think! From the sound of this, we can’t wait to hear more.
