Who grew up eating their mama’s coleslaw every time she hosted a BBQ? Well maybe it’s time to consider remixing the traditional coleslaw. If you been craving ways to be more creative with your side dish here are 3 easy-peasy, tasty Coleslaw recipes that you can bring with you for your next BBQ function.

INGREDIENTS
  1. 3 tbsp fresh lime juice
  2. 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  3. 2 teaspoons sugar or splenda
  4. dash of salt and pepper
  5. 1⁄3 cup chopped green onion
  6. 1⁄3 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  7. 8 ounces coleslaw mix (green cabbage and carrots)
  8. 4 ounces shredded purple cabbage
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Add coleslaw mix purple cabbage, cilantro and green onions into medium mixing bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, add lime juice, olive oil, sugar/splenda, salt and pepper. Mix.
  3. Pour dressing onto slaw mix, stir and serve.

INGREDIENTS
Dressing
3/4 cup fat free Greek Yogurt (I recommend using Fage, other brands may will be too thin)
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup honey
2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Coleslaw
1 small cabbage, shredded (6 – 7 cups packed)
1 1/2 cups matchstick carrots
2 large gala apples, sliced into matchsticks (about 3 cups)
1/2 cup sliced green onions
3/4 cup sliced almonds or 1 cup slivered almonds
3/4 cup dried cranberries
INSTRUCTIONS
In a mixing bowl whisk together Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, honey and apple cider vinegar until smooth, while seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
In a large bowl toss together cabbage, carrots, apples, green onions, almonds and cranberries. Pour dressing over cabbage mixture and toss to evenly coat. Serve immediately for best results.

INGREDIENTS 
  • 3-4 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 small green cabbage, cored and thinly shredded
  • ¼ small red cabbage, shredded
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 2 green onions, sliced
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Cook diced bacon in a pan until crisp. Drain on paper towels and reserve.
  2. Combine green and red cabbage and carrot in a large bowl.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, sugar, and salt and pepper.
  4. Add about ½ the dressing to the cabbage and stir to combine well. Keep adding dressing and stirring until all the cabbage is coated well. You may not need all the dressing.
  5. Stir in blue cheese crumbles and green onion.
  6. Sprinkle bacon on top.
