In exactly one month’s time Summer 2016 will kick off and EGL is here to spot the trends of Summer ’16 so that you don’t have to!
It is about to get sweltering hot outside and while some of us dread putting away all of our layering pieces that we may have managed to creep into our spring wardrobe, there is no need to fret! EGL is here to give you the scoop on what’s trending this summer so that you won’t even miss your fabulous fall ensembles. Check out our top 5 trends and use them to get started on mixing and matching your outfits for Summer 16.
THE SLIP DRESS
Silky, soft and straight out of the lingerie section of your local department store, the slip dress is the shaping up to be the new go to dress of the summer. If you are a little shy about its slinky fit and bedroom lure you can pair it with a bomber jacket to give it a street style edge OR rock a tee underneath as a layering piece.
THE BUCKET HAT
Protecting your scalp from the sun has never been more stylish! Grab one of these multi-colored bucket hats as seen on a runway near you to give you’re full look a tropical feel. However, we would recommend you stay away from the LL Cool J Kango we do not want to throw the trend that far back!
If you are looking to stay away from high-heels this summer the gladiator flat offers a comfortable alternative to a strappy sandal. To add a high fashion touch to your look try to look for a style that snakes its way up the calf.
ROMANTIC MAXI DRESSES WITH SLEEVES
I think we can all give credit to the Basketball Wives of Miami for the surge in Maxi dress awareness a few years back. Nevertheless, the trend has been remixed for Summer ’16 and now instead of hugging your curves, a flowy silhouette is trending! This could be a suitable alternative for your everyday throw on if you are not into the slip dress mentioned earlier!
SWIMWEAR WITH CUT OUTS
To all of my busy EGL fashionistas we know that sitting pool side is a luxury, so we must look good doing it. Swimwear with subtle and sexy cut outs are a must for your summer vacation. You can rock this trend in the one piece or two piece option.
Now that you know what is trending for this summer, be sure to drop us a comment letting us know what you decided to add to your closet and how you put it all together!
