The House of Balmain has made its way to NYC. Yes, you read that correctly! Balmain has opened its NYC flagship store to the public and it is located in Manhattan’s Soho at 100 Wooster Street.

The flagship store was designed by Studio KO with inspiration from founder Pierre Balmain’s Villa Balmain located on the Italian island of Elba. The high-end store is 2,150-square feet with lots of mirrors, open space, gold detail and complete with classic 20th century furniture.

“For us, this project was much more architectural and residential than decorative and retail. I like to think that the space that we have created could actually serve as the interior of a modern house perched on a Mediterranean cliff.” –Olivier Marty and Karl Fournier, Studio KO Architects

Balmains creative director, Olivier Rousteing, continuously creates buzz around the fashion world with his top dollar popular pieces of clothing that can be seen on Lupita Nyongo, Kelly Rowland and, of course, the Kardashian/Jenner clan.

This is what Olivier has to say about the opening of the high fashion brand, “It had to be SoHo. Anyone who knows me knows that I find America incredibly inspiring. I admire its uniquely open spirit, mix of peoples and impressive culture—and New York is all that, multiplied by a thousand! I fell in love with the city the first time I visited, and ever since, I try to see as much as possible each time I’m there—but what most intrigues me is that amazing mix of energy, creativity and beauty that you find in downtown Manhattan.” Balmain CEO, Emmanuel Diemoz, is sharing the excited emotions with Olivier, “Olivier’s obviously done an amazing job in helping to introduce this historic house to America. This new flagship store will allow us to show a much more complete selection of Olivier’s designs for men, women and, soon, kids.”
