The CBS daytime talk show, “The Talk,” has announced that rapper and actress, Eve, will be the show’s fifth new co-host.
Eve is replacing Aisha Tyler, who made the decision to leave the daytime talk show at the end of last season to put all her time into other television and film projects, including the CBS show “Criminal Minds.”
Eve will be joining Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen, Sharon Osbourne, and Sheryl Underwood. Ever since Tyler decided to leave, the show has had several different guest co-hosts, and Eve landed the job. Fans of the show loved her when she co-hosted for a week earlier this month.
CBS exec Angelica McDaniel stated:
“The women were thrilled when they heard Eve would be joining the show and can’t wait to start talking and engaging her in the conversation,” she continued, “Eve is a natural fit with our dynamic group of Daytime Emmy Award-winning hosts, and brings a fresh perspective and bold point of view as an accomplished artist, businesswoman, and wife who is raising four stepchildren and looking to add to her family.”
Eve is a rapper and actress known for collaborating with people like Alicia Keys, Ludacris, Jill Scott, and Dr. Dre. She has also starred in movies and shows like xXx, Barbershop, Franchise, and Glee.
“It is a new career move for me,” she continued, “I am interested in hosting, and specifically on this show, because I feel as though I can express myself in a way people haven’t seen me before, and be able to engage in great discussions [and] have some fun. I’m just in a place in my life where I was looking for a platform to express myself.”
Eve said that she will continue to act and make music for her fans while co-hosting for “The Talk” during its 8th season.
