A yoga class is one that engages our mind, body, and spirit, with the more carnal outer world of economics. This purposefully driven yoga, intricately revolutionized by none other than Dr. Rashawnna Novellus, The Wealthy Yogi. Novellus, who embarked on an epic trip to Thailand to study yoga at one of the world’s most renowned ashrams, took a moment during her studies to make a conscious effort to merge her mind and body with her knowledge of finance. Thus the emergence of The Wealthy Yogi! “To live the ultimate life, people need to know their goals and spend their money in alignment with those goals, proclaimed Novellus.” One may ask where such a young person is growing up in a society that perpetuates consumption, got her vast wherewithal to use her financial prowess to not only launch an enterprise but to assist in molding more mindful entrepreneurs. The revenue acquiring the aspect of this financial guru comes from her early exposure to investment clubs by her mother, “I was the one that was asked to come to all of the home closings of my friends and was the first to be contacted on financial endeavors.” Now more than ever finance has been on the minds of many African-Americans with the #BlackLivesMatter Movement; many feel that the only way to see real justice is through a financial revolution. Entertainment leaders such as Killer Mike and Usher have upped the ante for Blacks to start moving their money to minority-owned financial institutions, and the Wealthy Yogi calls for the same as it pertains to your personal growth.
We have to know who we are and what we want for our finances, how we extend our economic voice is the most powerful message. How we allocate our capital is in direct alignment with us as individuals and is the strongest voice you can have in a capitalistic society. – The Wealthy Yogi
EGL is not the only entity that sees the importance of spreading the word on a well-balanced financial future to our world of women.
