Easter is one of many favorite holidays to celebrate with your family. The bright pastel colors of spring and all the outdoor activities that come along with it. Growing up, celebrating Easter meant fluffy flowery dresses or skirts, matching hats, going to church and coming home to a big family dinner. Try out these fun ideas this year for the kids in your family.

Start the week by doing these fun activities:

  • dying eggs
  • have breakfast with the Easter bunny
  • baking together – look up some tasty fun Easter treats

You can also create an Easter egg hunt if your church or neighborhood isn’t hosting one. Either have an Easter egg hunt at home or at a relative’s home.

You’ll need:

  • Vibrant eggs filled with coins
  • Chocolates
  • Assorted candy
  • Golden egg as the surprise egg

All these items can be found at the Dollar Store, Walmart and Target.

If you’re looking for something to do or a switch up for this year, try to set up a picnic for the little ones to enjoy with family and friends.

Picnic set up– Use an adjustable table or create a mini table with crates or small buckets to give it a little bit of height.

Décor– The use of colorful disposable tablecloths and drink-ware will spruce up your table. Also, you can buy some moss from the dollar store or craft supply store and place some colorful eggs on top to create a playful centerpiece. Hang colorful lanterns from trees or in gazebos (if you have space in the backyard). Place pillows, cushions or bean bags on the floor to bring your picnic to life.

Party activities– An Egg hunt, of course, and other activities that are searchable on the web will keep the fun going. You can try Twister, which is an interactive game where everyone can get involved.

Happy Easter from the EGL family to yours!
