It has been an eventful few weeks for music, hasn’t it? We lost the legendary Prince. Beyonce’ dropped her album Lemonade, which set the world on fire. Then, Drake released his highly anticipated album, “Views from the 6.” It seems like the whole world was waiting to see what Drake had up his sleeve. And obviously, it was magic because his album skyrocketed on the charts.
Drake’s position at the top of the CN Tower is fitting seeing that his album landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts. Views has sold over 1.2 million copies, including streams, just a week after its release on April 28th.
Drake took to Instagram to express his gratitude, “One million sold in one week. I am beyond grateful for this milestone. Thank you for listening.#VIEWS”
According to Billboard, Views is Drake’s sixth No. 1 album, following What a Time To Be Alive, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, Nothing Was the Same, Take Care and Thank Me Later.
Congratulations Drake! Rumor has it, he plans to drop some new music soon, so get ready for a lit summer 16.
