One of the best parts of award shows is the honoree tributes, where stars pay homage to the artists who have come before them and paved the way. And this year’s honoree tributes at the Grammys will definitely wow you!
The legendary Lionel Richie is one of the artists who will be celebrated this year. The 66-year-old singer, songwriter and producer has won four Grammy awards throughout his career, and has made some very memorable music that we still love today, so it’s no surprise that the soulful artist will be earning such an outstanding award.
During a recent interview with CBS News, Lionel talked about how his music has stood the test of time.
“The best thing that ever happens – the music stayed around, the music stuck. I mean, we’re talking about the third generation of folks are now sitting in the audience,” Richie said.
The R&B legend will be honored with all-star performances from some of today’s greatest stars. Lined up to perform some of Lionel’s greatest hits are John Legend, Demi Lovato, Meghan Trainor, and Luke Bryan. It was also announced that Lionel himself will be gracing the stage.
You can catch this amazing tribute along with tributes from The Hollywood Vampires paying homage to Moterhead’s Lemmy. Lady Gaga honoring the late David Bowie, and a B.B King tribute from Chris Stapleton, Bonnie Raitt, and Gary Clark Jr. Just make sure you tune into the Grammy’s on CBS, Monday February 15th at 8pm sharp!
