According to court documents, former “Scandal” actor Columbus Short was tested positive for cocaine and marijuana use and is now facing a probation violation in his felony assault case.
Short told probation officials at the beginning of April that he used medicinal marijuana daily but hasn’t used cocaine in three years.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Leslie E. Brown ordered Columbus to appear at a hearing on May 9th to address them after receiving details about his failed drug test.
The actor pleaded no contest to felony assault in September and was sentenced to three years of supervised probation, two months of community labor, and anger management counseling. Columbus punched a man at a family gathering back in March 2014, which left the victim with a concussion and fractured eye socket.
Short’s attorney Ludlow B. Creary II had no comment on the failed drug test. Short revealed to Access Hollywood in 2014 that his cocaine and alcohol use was the reason he was fired from “Scandal.”
Creary is hoping that Short will finish his probation and will get back on track and have a successful career.
