TRL

Remember rushing home after school to see Destiny’s Child perform their new hit single on live TV or calling in to vote for your favorite music video? MTV was everything and “TRL” was life! It’s time for some teen-years nostalgia, “TRL” is back. When Total Request Live went off air in 2008, social media was taking off and TV ratings were declining. How will this rebooted version of “TRL” succeed? MTV has brought on an entire crew of internet celebrities to host the show. D.C. Young Fly from “Wild ‘N Out,” YouTube star Eva Gutowski (MyLifeAsEva), Instagram star Gigi Gorgeous, and YouTubers The Dolan Twins all joined the “TRL” team and will bring their millions of followers with them. MTV plans to integrate digital and linear content because they know their target demographic doesn’t solely watch TV for entertainment or news anymore. “TRL” airs weekdays at 3:30 p.m.

Scandal

Who else doesn’t want this season of “Scandal” to end? The farewell season has kicked off and will consist of 18 episodes of Kerry Washington slaying outfits we wish we could get our hands on, and handling situations we wish she could fix in real life. “Scandal” will leave behind legacy as one of the few TV shows with a lead African American actress. Kerry Washington has been nominated twice for an Emmy for “Outstanding Lead Actress.” Lets sip our wine and tackle crime with Olivia Pope for the last season of Scandal, *tear*.

Black-ish

The fourth season of “Black-Ish” is here! The show’s creator, Kenya Barris, said “They’re either going to love it or hate it,” when he was asked about the new season. The show has already tackled taboo subjects like police brutality, the N-word, and the election of Donald Trump. The first episode of “Black-ish” talked about historical inaccuracies taught to children in school and even added a musical aspect, dropping songs like “I’m Just a Slave,” which delivered a powerful message about slavery and how black people are told to cope with it. Are you loving this season?

Queen Sugar

The second half of the second season of “Queen Sugar” has us intrigued. The second season premiered on OWN in a two episode special on June 20 and 21, 2017, raking in 2.3 million total viewers. Any glimpse of Kofie Siriboe is like a peek into heaven. Ladies, grab a snack to watch a snack every Wednesday at 10 pm on OWN.

Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir

A hip hop love story came to a happy ending when rapper Gucci Mane proposed to his ride-or-die girlfriend Keyshia Ka’oir at a Atlanta Hawks game last November. Now, the two are husband and wife. Keyshia and Gucci tied the knot on live TV and it was a love fest. With a host of celebrity friends, beautiful floral arrangements and DIAMONDS galore, you know their wedding was over the top. But the fun isn’t over yet. You can watch all the events leading up to the wedding on Tuesdays at 10/9c on BET.
