It’s only been a little under 24 hours since Cardi B’s debut album, “Invasion of Privacy,” was released to the masses and the Bronx-born rapper has already achieved an astounding feat: having her debut become certified Gold within the first few hours of its release.
Once the clock struck midnight, Black Twitter showed up and showed out—giving us a preview of the accolades that were well on their way due to tracks such as “Bickenhead,” “Get Up 10,” “Ring,” and “Best Life.”
Fast forward to hours later, it seemed the entire Internet was in agreement that the album in its entirely was absolutely nothing to be played with:
And, they were right.
This record-breaking certification is in part due in part to the accumulation of sales from the hit single, “Bodak Yellow.” On it’s own, the single gained her a massive amount in sales, but nonetheless, it does make Cardi’s debut the fastest album by a female rapper in history to reach this benchmark.
