Songstress and reality television star K.Michelle has been through her fair share of trials and tribulations in the music industry. She was first signed to Jive Records in 2009, releasing a few singles before leaving the label. Then in 2012, she made her appearance on VH1’s “Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta” gaining a whole new fan base. After being on the show, K. Michelle sparked the attention of Atlantic Records and she’s been unstoppable ever since. Now, K is working on her new album, More Issues Than Vogue.
Atlantic Records recently threw K.Michelle a listening/birthday party, but they also had another surprise up their sleeve. Sources say that Atlantic Records gave K.Michelle a record label of her own where she will be free to sign artists of her choice. K. Michelle was seen in a video online explaining the kind of artists she is looking for. She wants raw talent and no gimmicks. The “Rebellious Soul” singer told the crowd that she’s looking for someone who is “very unique.”
More Issues Than Vogue will be K.Michelle’s third studio album and it will be released on March 25th. There isn’t much information on the singer’s new label, but we congratulate her on her new business venture.
