November is a month that we are thankful for many things. Family, great friends, and more… One thing we’re especially thankful for, is good music. This year, one of our favorite 90’s R&B girl groups, Xscape reunited. For the first time in almost 20 years, members Kandi, Tiny, Tamika & LaTocha took the stage at The 2017 BET Music Awards first televised performance since reuniting. The ladies are currently gearing up for their reunion tour this fall but before they hit the stage for some stellar performances, let’s kick off our shoes and relax as we take a trip down memory lane; with one of their billboard hit albums Off The Hook.

Just Kick It:  To date, this is Xscape’s biggest hit that’s still circulating in our playlists and bumped at family cookouts, parties, and reunions.  This sultry hip-hop track describes the ladies catering to their men. In 1993, Just Kickin’ It entered the Billboard 100 chart at No. 90 and then later reaching the Top 10 in just four weeks.

Understanding: Everyone can use some kind of Understanding when it comes to their relationship right? Xscape’s second single off their hit sophomore album definitely vocalized in ballad form what a lot of lovers were feeling. Members Kandi Burruss and Tameka “Tiny’ Cottle stated back in 1995 that they wanted the single to be more “vocally complex” and “universal.” The single spent 14 weeks in the Top 40 portion of the Billboard chart. The ballad went to No. 1 on the Hot R&B Singles chart, where it spent two weeks at the top.

Tonight: This sultry ballad is the ultimate lover’s rock track to play for that special someone on that special night. The ladies slayed their amazing vocals harmonizing in acapella.  So whether you’re gearing up for a date night or celebrating an anniversary, this song is definitely for you.

Love On My Mind: This up-tempo R&B song plays the dual role of love ballad and club banger. Pretty dope, right? The ladies took a different approach from their slow tunes and added a hip-hop flair to this track for everyone to dance to. The single landed at No. 46 on the Billboard 100 chart and No. 16 on the R&B chart in 1993.

Can’t get enough of Xscape? Well, you’re in luck! Catch the premiere of Xscape’s new reality show “Still Kickin’ It” premiering this Sunday night, November 5, on Bravo. Checkout the trailer below and let us know what you think.
