Rumors recently circulated that Trai Byers, Andre Lyon on “Empire,” wanted to leave the hit FOX series. Byers reportedly wanted to call it quits because he felt like his character didn’t have an important role this season and Byers allegedly hates not being the star.

However, Byers recently took to Instagram to clear up the rumors and expressed how much he loves his character. In fact, his role on “Empire” is the reason for his current success and he has no plans of leaving.

I don’t normally spend my time dispelling rumors, but there is something I’d like to address,” he wrote, “I have nothing but love and respect for “Empire” and all who are involved on the show. I have a fabulous relationship with FOX, and hold myself to the highest standards professionally. How could I think of demanding something larger than Andre, where I get to express a man with Bipolar disorder, who is on a spiritual journey to find his identity? I’m so proud, so happy, and so lucky to be a part of this cast. This show has started my career. See you in Season Three!

We’re glad that’s just a rumor and can’t wait to see what the cast has in store for next season. To the Empire!
