It’s that time of year again! The Holidays are here. Many people are attending Christmas parties or sitting at the house with their families drinking some hot cocoa. No matter what you’re doing this holiday season, Music is a must! Here’s a list of soulful Christmas classics to jam out to (our way)!

Mariah Carey- All I Want For Christmas

You can’t possibly discuss Christmas classics without mentioning the inventor herself, Miss Mariah Carey. Since the song dropped back in ‘94, it has been untouchable. We don’t know about you guys, but every time we even start to think about Christmas, Mariah Carey’s voice automatically pops up in our head.

Boyz II Men- Let it Snow

Who doesn’t love Christmas and the sweet sounds of Boys II Men? Well, they gave us both with “Let it Snow.” The boys who turned into men would like the ladies to know that this Christmas, they don’t care what the weather may be…“as long as you’re here with me.” So go ‘head and let it snow honey!

The Temptations- Silent Night

This is not your average “Silent Night.” Prepare yourself for some soul that only the Temptations can bring.

TLC- Sleigh Ride

TLC wanted to wish their fans a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. What better way to do so than to crank out a Christmas classic, the TLC way!

Eartha Kit- Santa Baby

Eartha Kit, the GOAT. This isn’t the remake, sugar! Our very own Ertha Kit recorded the ORIGINAL “Santa Baby” back in 1953. “Santa Baby” lived on to be a classic Christmas record not only in the black community, but nationwide.

This Christmas- Chris Brown

Now, we know Donny Hathaway made the first “This Christmas,” but are we going to act like the young boy Chris Brown didn’t come and add his own flavor to the record? Donny Hathaway already made it a classic; however, Chris definitely revived the song with his vocals and undeniable dance moves. We’ll just drop the link to Donny Hathaway’s original as well for all the old schoolers out there!

Luther Vandross- Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Our beloved Luther Vandross! Yes! We love the late, great Luther and that undeniable voice of his. He took a break from his normal hit making to serve us up a Merry Little Christmas.

Destiny’s Child- 8 Days of Christmas

Okay, so it’s definitely not your typical “a partridge in a pear tree” 8 days of Christmas. But still, a bop none the less. Christmas was made for the children…Destiny’s Children that is! “Feel so in la-la-la-la love!”

The Jackson 5 Christmas Album

Last but certainly not least… the iconic JACKSON 5. And yes, we said the whole dang album! The album includes songs like “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause” and their very own version of “Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer.” When you want to sip some wine, decorate your house, maybe make a holiday meal, just go ahead and pop in that Jackson 5 Christmas Album to put you in the mood!

That’s it for our Christmas playlist y’all. But as a quick bonus, our girl Fantasia has a brand-new Christmas album titled Christmas After Midnight available on streaming services and in stores fresh for the 2017 holiday season, so be sure to check that out as well!

Happy Holidays and have a safe and blessed New Year!
