Live at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, the 2016 Soul Train Music Awards went down last night and boy was it a lavish affair. Both hosted and executive produced by the soulful Ms. Erykah Badu, the Soul Train Music Awards was beyond #LIT! So many of our favorite celebrities showed up and showed out, leaving EGL with the toughest decision we’ve had to make all year… Who made the BEST DRESSED CELEBS LIST?

Almost every notable there pulled out their best threads and served us an infinite amount of unforgettable fashion moments. After many grueling deliberations and three espresso breaks later, EGL finally reached a unanimous decision on who made the cut. So, without further ado, we present to you EGL’s Soul Train Music Awards Best Dressed List for 2016!

The “Fade” Harlem native came through and shut down the red carpet with a sheer beaded gown from The Blonds NY line. Adding a nude corset to top off the look, Teyana has yet again convinced us to walk away from those fries and hit the gym with a vengeance!

Tamar Braxton

Can you say, “Snatched!?” Your favorite Braxton and fearless leader of the #Taymartian clan gave us racy column gown tease. Her surprising thigh-high slit and single shoulder strap gave us Grecian goddess with a small hint of sexy. WE LIVED!!!

Draya’s red carpet look featured a sheer lacy Zvonko Markovic Couture gown that fit her like a dream. Hugging in all of the right places, the form fitting frock erased all evidence of a newborn from the frame. Yasss, Ms. Draya… Show ‘em how on point that snapback game of yours REALLY is, girl!

Remy showed up looking flawless in a full-length velvet wine colored DVF gown. Complete with thigh-high slit and deeply plunged neckline, Remy paired her gown with matching Jimmy Choos. Talk about stepping out! We loved it, Rem!

Did you think we were going to leave out the fellas? Insecure star, Jay Ellis, easily took the title of Best Dressed Male for the evening! We love a man in a perfectly tailored suit, especially when it’s made by Tom Ford. Jumping aboard the velvet ranks, Jay’s textured Tom Ford blazer and sleek bow tie were the perfect finishing touches to his ensemble. Way to go, Jay!

Elise was a vision in white on the red rag! Her form-fitting, long-sleeved jumpsuit with sexy cutouts left us in awe of her presence. But, wait… There’s more! Both legs of the garment came complete with long billowing trains that were so gag-worthy it was ridiculous. Bravo Elise… You made our night!

Erykah Badu

And, our final look of the evening, which was the clear show-stopper, belonged to the Master of Ceremonies herself; Ms. Erykah Badu! Her eclectic and over-the-top style choices are always made the topic of discussion and last night things were no different. Erykah rocked a yellow floor length Ralph and Russo coat gown. She accessorized her look with a super tall burgundy top hat and chunky necklace. DOPENESS IS SERVED!!!
