You know you want it. You know you need it. But, you hate these caloric limitations that insist that one must sacrifice flavor in order to successfully keep the flab away. You’re a good girl. You count carbs and meticulously maintain your curvaceous figure. You have a stringent diet and you religiously visit the gym to ensure that your body mass index remains in check. Yet, wouldn’t it be nice to liberate yourself for one night by casting away your healthy eating habits to feverishly embrace a more hedonistic approach to edible ecstasy? Just imagine flirting freely with buttery goodness, getting hot and heavy with a little dark chocolate, and then going all the way with a perfectly pan seared steak. It sounds so good it must be sinful, right?
Hey, hey, hey….there are no blurred lines in great food! Highlight your good behavior this week by eating naughty. You can do it on the kitchen table, in the dining room or even in bed. Wherever you do it, just make sure it’s freakishly good! Relish in your pleasure-seeking by preparing delectable foods that are completely doused in all of the bad ingredients that will make you want to drop that good girl act.
Delight your senses with the intense sizzle of butter melting in a pan just moments before you baste a steak seasoned sumptuously with fresh thyme. Savor the warmth of sweet chocolate ganache as it slowly melts on your tongue. Oh, and let’s not forget the cocktail. A Chocolate Covered Strawberry Martini made to order, to gently wash down all of the great food you are about to devour. Note: This recipe is designed for very large steaks, at least 1 1/2 inches thick weighing 24 to 32 ounces with the bone-in. Porterhouse, T-bone, ribeye, or New York strips will all work. Avoid using tenderloin steaks, as they are likely to overcook. For better results, let steaks rest at least 45 minutes at room temperature or up to three days loosely covered in the refrigerator after seasoning in step 1.
