Check out EGL’s 10 Beauty Trends we want to leave in 2015! If you’re still rocking these trends, please bid them an overdue farewell!
#1 Clumpy Falsies
We once believed that there was no such thing as too much lash, but sadly there is. The more dramatic the lash, the more fake they look. Skip the mascara on your falsies and ditch the strip!
#2 Matte Lippies
Pookie lips are a no, no…period! If you must experiment with matte lipsticks, choose moisturizing mattes and pick shades that compliment your skin tone.
#3 Clown Brows
Strong harsh lines created by concealer around the brows can go from good to bad in seconds. Find the correct shade of concealer then use it only under the brow, not on top.
#4 Ridiculously Long Weaves
The versatility of hair extensions and wigs are great but there is nothing about 32 inches of hair extensions that look natural or the least bit realistic. Not to mention, the weight of 4 bundles of 32 inch hair is killing your hairline!
#5 Stiletto Nails
We must admit the stiletto nails trend is still kind of cute, but the longer and pointier the nail the more we want to see this trend disappear.
#6 Two-Toned Hair
When executed poorly, ombré has the tendency to look like your roots have grown out and you are in dire need of a touch-up. Consider hair contouring or balayage techniques for a more natural blend of colors.
#7 Sun-kissed Skin
We love a good highlight, but a little goes a long way! The goal is to create a light shimmer on the highest points of your face, not to look like your drowning in fairy dust.
#8 Make-Up Baking
A beauty trick made popular by drag queens and stage performers probably shouldn’t be a part of your daily beauty regimen. The white cast is scary in pictures and just …stop ….it.
#9 Baby Hair
As with all good things, too much of it can lead to something terrible. Baby hair should fall naturally around the hairline and not be stuck to the side of your head with black gel.
#10 Invisible Parts
Frankly, there’s no such thing. The tragedy of the invisible part weave is that the part is very much visible and honestly doesn’t look good on anybody.
